1. Gather your documents

Have all pages ready. Complete the required information beforehand, but ask your notary when to sign. If you are unsure what a form means or which notarization is needed, ask the document provider or an attorney.

2. Have identification ready

Bring current identification acceptable under North Carolina notary requirements. A current government-issued ID with a photograph and signature is a common option. Contact us before the appointment if your ID is expired, unavailable, or your names differ.

3. Coordinate the people attending

Everyone whose signature is being notarized must participate in the appointment. Confirm any separate witness requirements with the document provider and arrange witnesses before the visit.

4. Make the meeting easy

Choose a quiet place with a table. For hospitals and care facilities, check visiting rules, access instructions, and a suitable time for the signer. Each signer must participate willingly and be able to complete the required notarial process.
